This is a friendly and informal centre where people can visit, meet, socialise and learn new skills.
Apart from offering the local community support and a listening ear, the Information Centre offers a variety of activities. They offer helpful drop in sessions with the Police, spiritual advisors and the Citizens Advice bureau. And, if learning is your desire they have courses on languages, fitness and arts and craft.
The Internet Café teaches free computer skills, with computer facilities provided and an experienced tutor on hand to provide the teaching. Training is available to people over the age of 50, regardless of their experience, be that little or none.
You can learn basic IT skills, an insight into the world of emails, how to set up an email account, awareness of computer viruses, the use of a laptop and how to keep in touch with your friends and family (both locally and abroad) and internet shopping for goods and services.
